What Makes You Think You Have the Best Anti-aging Product?

Where Is the Real Deal?

I remember being part of a MLM company several years ago and in one of their meetings I observed a huge hype on anti-aging products. Someone decided to use an apple (after cutting it in half) to demonstrate the process of oxidation, and it’s funny how I had seen that so many times before but didn’t realize that oxidation was taking place immediately evident by its discoloration i. e. turning brown. Since that demonstration, I have not forgotten that but now, more than ever, almost every product I see has an antioxidant property or is an anti-aging product useful against diabetes, cancer, etc., etc.

For the health conscience individuals, it is a big deal. Everywhere you look, there are products being marketed to purify one’s surrounding air and drinking water; all about people’s health and well-being. Of all the products I was introduced to Resveratrol was the only one that got my attention. Why? Because it claims to fight against oxidation and I love anything that says juice. For a period, I bought several bottles. I enjoyed drinking it but couldn’t continue on because it didn’t last for two weeks, at least.

In Mona Vie and Noni?

A few years later, I found out about Mona Vie. They have this juice called acai, a Brazilian berry rich in antioxidants and other nutrients, along with the juices of 18 other fruits. Aside from that, they carry another product that has glucosamine and fatty acids to promote joint function, and Mona Vie Pulse with omega 3 fatty acids, resveratrol, and plant sterols to encourage the health of the heart.

Then, there is Noni juice made from the fruit of the Monrinda citrifolia, or noni tree. In Polynesia, the natives historically have used it for many ailments such as rheumatic pain and inflammation, boils, gouts, and ringworms. Even in Hawaii, noni fruit and leaves are used to heal bruises, sprains and severe wounds.

Most people associate this diminutive tree with the Tahitians but it is also found in India, the Caribbean, South America and the West Indies. However, some believe Tahitian noni possesses the greatest healing properties. Whether or not that is really true is another matter.

Because Noni juice is a supplement, the FDA forbids the manufacturers of food supplement products like noni juice, from making specific health claims. But many people believe noni juice can do everything from making them feel energized to helping in the prevention of cancer. However, the fruit of the noni has some interesting properties that appear helpful in maintaining a healthy system, but I wonder if it means anti-aging.

In Herbalife, XtendLife, and LifeExtension?

So far, I have only named two companies but, what about Herbalife, Xtendlife and Life Extension? In their line of products, you will find a huge list of products and anti-aging is one of them. I do not dispute what their products can do but there is clearly a large amount of money to be spent if you do proceed.

Here’s an example. If you are thinking of buying anti-aging products from Life Extension, you will find 113 results. Of all the available choices, how many does one need for anti-aging? The same can be said with the other companies, and I for one, do not think that having a bunch of supplements is necessary.

If we are going to talk about anti-aging, would it not make sense to get one product that is multifaceted as well as save you money? Well, sometimes in life we tend to search further than is needed when all along, the answer is right under our noses.

In Lifevantage?

Yes, your answer to anti-aging is in Lifevantage’s flagship product called Protandim. Unless someone can prove me wrong, I have no doubt that Lifevantage has the true anti-aging product. To have a product that can significantly up-regulate one’s selenium, glutathione, SOD and catalase at the same time simply tells me I am extending my life and saving money.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not dismissing the need for red wine, taking vitamins C & E, and so on but to say these products are the real thing against aging is nothing more than a far-fetched statement. Resveratrol or acai, for example, may taste great but, can it do what Protandim does? Noni, on the other hand, promotes good health but it has not been scientifically proven to prevent cancer or altitude sickness, for example, and there is a general agreement in the medical community of its hype and misleading claims.

Make Your Decision

So, for those still on the fence or trying to disapprove what Protandim can do, feel free to take your time. For every second that ticks, is every second free radicals are produced while you are breathing. If you believe that acai, resveratrol or anything similar has a 1:1000000 ratio than, by all means, do not make any changes.

The product I believe in speaks for itself. Some people may not like to be bold but that's them. Besides, it is a disservice to mislead a person on something that is not effective and I would, at a drop of a hat, criticize Lifevantage if their products do NOT deliver.

Hi Proton66,

This looks like an ad. Perhaps the product is good, but they all claim to be "the answer." We don't listen to the manufacturers of products; we look at unbiased research. We, from our center, just returned from one of the largest anti-aging conferences world wide, which we go to every year. This conference consists of world wide leading experts in anti-aging medicine and cutting edge science. One thing I have learned, which makes sense to me: NOTHING does everything!

Just as the body does not subsist on only Nrf-2, neither will it stay young and viable with only one product. You are right about all the various supplements out there. By the way, Life Extension uses products that have been extensively researched. There are the basics we all need and cannot get enough of, such as fish oil, B-complex, C, E, CoQ-10. And that is why genetics research is important. Soon we will know what diseases each of us is more pre-disposed to, which will make a difference in what we supplement with. Even now, our center does neuro-transmitter and food allergy testing, among other tests, to see what is most likely missing and needs to be supplemented.

The shortening of telomers is going to help the most, because we age due to the shortening of the telomeres. Until then, we continue to take what science continues to be sure we need, and it's not in one product, unfortunately.

Thanks for the information. You are a good writer.

Thanks Dr Cherie. You do bring up a good point. We, indeed, also need B-complex, C, E, CoQ-10, etc. These are some of the things we, sooner or later will be deficient in, and Protandim does not fill in for that.
